Dermal Fillers
There are two main types of volume fillers: synthetic and your body’s own fat (fat grafting). These fillers can be used superficially to alleviate wrinkle lines or used deep to enhance volume. Cosmetic injections are generally synthetic forms of hyaluronic acid, a component normally found in skin. They are commonly used for permanent wrinkle lines around the brow, lips and mouth. As a volume enhancer, they may help fill deep tear troughs or add fullness to lips. Their effect lasts 6-12 months or longer depending on the product injected.
